Shine on Ancient Lands
Crespuscular rays over the mountains of Inverpolly from Stoer Peninsula in NW Assynt, Sutherland, Scotland. These mountains were formed a billion years ago from Torridonian sandstone and sit on a bed of 3 billion year-old Lewisian gneiss. This rock is some of the oldest in Europe.
