time and tide wait for no man ...
A Time and Tide Bell on Tràigh Bhostadh (Bosta Beach) on Great Bernera off the west coast of the Isle of Lewis, as the tide comes in. The bell is one of five permanently sited at the high tide mark in different locations around the UK, from London to the Outer Hebrides. The unique design creates a range of tones when the rising tide causes it to ring. The artist responsible, Marcus Vergette ( http://www.marcusvergette.co.uk/bell.htm) intends the installations to bring home to people the threat from global warming and higher tides.
