Assynt Timeline
Livestock graze on thawing pasture land around trees with children's rope swings hanging from them, with the late morning, warm autumnal light hightlighting the relief in the landscape after a cold, autumn frost. I loved the juxtaposition of this relatively modern use of the landscape (humans have been around for 1-2 million years) with the unmistakable sight of the majestic Suilven, formed over a billion years ago from Toridonian Sandstone on a bed of 3 billion year old Lewisian Gneiss.
